This pages lists stubs that have the most links from other Wikipedia articles. Articles which are linked to from many places generally cover important topics. They are likely to be read frequently and therefore should be of the highest quality. Popular stubs should be expanded as a priority.

Status and how to help

The below list was created from the October 23, 2004 database dump, and is need of updating. However, it's still an excellent selection of articles that it would be most beneficial to grow. If you know anything about any of these subjects, visit an appropriate page and share your wisdom with the rest of Wikipedia!

In order to prevent duplication of effort, please remove articles from this list if you fix them yourself (by removing the stub tag after the article is no longer a stub), or if you happen to notice that they are already fixed.

The list currently includes articles that are 250 characters or less in length that were tagged {{stub}} when the list was created. Multiple links from a single article were only counted once. Since stubs are now being sorted into categories by topic, a new method for regenerating this list will need to be found.

Suggested improvements

  • A better definition of what makes a stub a stub may be needed - perhaps anything marked as a stub + anything shorter than 250 chars? - TB 10:07, Jun 9, 2004 (UTC)
I would just go with anything that's actually tagged with a template that has "stub" at the end of the title. Anything that's short and not tagged as a stub should show up on the "Should this be a stub?" page. Anything that's long and tagged as a stub should show up on the "Is this really a stub?" page. -- Beland 21:44, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

A definition for the Simple English version should be developed (started and abandoned a while back).

The definition of a stub seems to be the reverse of what the article designated is (somewhat like "military intelligence")
