VLSI Technology, Inc (Nasdaq: VLSI) was an American company that designed and manufactured custom chips. It was based at 1109 McKay Drive, San Jose, CALIFORNIA 95131, USA.

VLSI was founded in 1979.

In 1990, VLSI was a founding investing partner in ARM Ltd.

In June 1999, VLSI was acquired by Philips Electronics for about $1 billion.
