I'm a politically active fourteen year old radical who lives in Singapore with a communist* slant...even though my government condemns it regularly (like every other country in the world). I'm in secondary three. I discovered Wikipedia and its editing ability around the beginning of 2004 or late 2003, and registered this account in September 2004. Technically, I only became a regular contributor in February or March 2005.
I'm a firm supporter of the free software movement as well, and think Wikipedia is often the epitomisation for those who desire liberation from government censorship of ideas, or those who wish to put a price on constructive information. Therefore, I release all my works I publish on here into the GFDL. I've also found that in my quest to aid in the enlightenment of the world, that I've also gained many things myself through editing, through having to look up other articles for links, and to do research in order to define articles. You don't learn something until you teach it, they say.
I am also vehemently opposed to software patents, which I feel restrict innovation and freedom of information, the Next Generation Secure Computing Base, which I feel contains features that suppress digital freedoms, and also, the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. I have a dislike towards the concept of the copyright itself, but I tolerate it under the current society, and of course is a better alternative to software patents.
I'm obsessed with mathematical paradigms and "bridge phenomena" such as Euler's Identity; and yes, quantum physics. I don't actually know much of these things compared to the experts though, and quite confused with it. But I still love the subjects. Maybe I will resolve this issue when I get older. I know things like the polar graph and the how e^ix=sin (x) + i cos (x) but those are proofs and theorems, not concepts.
Which also means - would Wikipedia please make such information slightly more comprehensible and easy to visualise and link up to (neurally, not wikifiying), so aspiring people like us can get to your level? "Construct structure/group/set K over field F") - well, instead of just wanton linking, I would prefer an elaboration of how they are really connected, or at least make it less abstract.
You could say one of my childhood heroes was the Radioactive Boy Scout, and become fascinated with the concept of being able to reach that level of nuclear physics just in your backyard as just a common citizen. In my opinion, it was virtuous and incredibly resourceful (imagine the benefits for the common civilian against Big Brother!), and incredibly ambitious, never mind he was just 16 when he attempted to build his own homemade nuclear breeder reactor. See what all us common citizens can do?
'*'Communist as in anarcho-communist, not the totalitarian evil that is Bolshevism (just my opinion) which is responsible for all the tarnished reputation of communism today.
My Wikipedia Activites
Since I'm Singaporean, I edit actively on Singapore-related articles, such as articles on the SGpedian's notice board. I poke into some scientific articles now and then. I generally like to link up articles and provide information on how the concepts interact, instead of merely just posting a wikilink to explain a term, maybe an elaboration or two, then also linking them as one cohesive unit.
Generally that's why I also spend lots of time creating templates. Speaking of templates, these two Template:Chess position and Template:Game of Go Position are a good example on how cohesion and flexibility can be achieved. This allows fun things like WikiChess, and perhaps later for the Game of Go. I created the latter template myself. Creating the parameter entries for all 361 nodes was pretty tedious, but I think it paid off.
The Go Template

Entering "b" renders a black seed. Nothing or whitespace renders an empty square, while "x" renders an empty star point. "w" renders a white seed. The number at the lower right corner controls the size. I'm trying to create a flexible one with flexible board sizes, font sizes borders, co-ordinates and everything but the most needed things come first.
I also created stuff for smaller boards for small games, or just convenient examples to cite: Template:Game of Go Position 13x13, Template:Game of Go Position 9x9, each with their own no coordinate version. Also for convenient analysis of say, smaller opening moves, I created Template:Game of Go Position 9x9 Middle and Template :Game of Go Position 9x9 Quarter. Of course I don't own these templates, and already I have received great external help from Wikipedians as always but these are templates I take pride in. ;-)
I am documenting a complete manual for both article and game use at Wikipedia:Sandbox/Game of Go/Manual.
