Hi, my name is David and my user account is Chameleon, also spelt Chamaeleon. I also had a brief flirtation with being called Helpful Dave, but that provoked too many abominable puns along the lines of "that edit wasn't very helpful, Dave" and "Hateful Dave". Sigh.

Controversy

Be aware that my edits may be controversial. I had intended to become a mediator, but the results of my adminship nomination a while ago (with sensible, balanced comments such as Will reconsider at the heat death of the universe (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3ARequests_for_adminship%2FChamaeleon&diff=11894462&oldid=11893772) and The thought of such a user with admin powers makes me shiver uncontrollably (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3ARequests_for_adminship%2FChamaeleon&diff=11896052&oldid=11896045), from users whose POV I had opposed) showed me that the only role I am to be allowed here is that of an unashamed and polemical warrior in the fight for NPOV. Update: the same clique won't even let me be an admin on Commons. No doubt they'd stop me getting a job if they could. Update2: they won't even let Eequor be an admin!

Noticed that Wikipedia is a bit cliquey? In-jokes, exclusive vocabulary, ideological tendencies? How about joining a new clique: consider yourself a member if your primary goal here is to build an excellent encyclopaedia.
