- Heard on NPR (March 4, 2005 Morning Edition): "Terror is an emotion, not a country, and the war on terror would be better fought by an army of psychiatrists."
- Heard on NPR: "The no-fly list is a list of people so dangerous they can't be allowed to fly under any circumstances, yet so innocent they can't be arrested, even under the Patriot Act." [2] (http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2005/01/tsas_secure_fli.html)

Contributions
I'm most proud of the photographs and diagrams I've made. See Commons:User:Dbenbenn/gallery. I've also uploaded a few images here; see /gallery for those.
I found Wikipedia on January 13, 2004 (http://wikipedia.cas.ilstu.edu/index.php?title=Elbow_Room&diff=prev&oldid=2147113), though I didn't really jump in until November. At 03:42, 14 Feb 2005 I became an admin. At 21:42, 22 Jun 2005 (http://wikipedia.cas.ilstu.edu/index.php?title=User:Dbenbenn&diff=prev&oldid=15651205) I made my 10000th edit (http://kohl.wikimedia.org/~kate/cgi-bin/count_edits.cgi?user=Dbenbenn&dbname=enwiki).

VfD
A while ago I voted to keep a middle school, and joined the Association of Inclusionist Wikipedians. Lately, though, I've been feeling less sure, especially after reading User:Geogre.
One thing I do feel sure about is that an article shouldn't fool the reader into thinking the topic is more notable than it really is. That's the problem with articles on non-notable people. That's why I nominated Homespring, an otherwise charming article about an esoteric programming language.
- "Encyclopedias synthesize and highlight; they tell the reader the importantance or significance of a subject, the most important background, concepts, or events that shaped that importance, and perhaps a few pieces of trivia or a few strange facts and then sends the reader somewhere else for the in-depth treatment. Even if notability is discarded and every verifiable object, fact, or event in the known universe and every fictional universe ever created is included, that only expands the breadth of coverage and does not change the way such objects should be presented, i.e. with an eye towards synthesizing previous research and sources and highlighting the essential facts contained therein." —Indrian, [3] (http://wikipedia.cas.ilstu.edu/index.php?title=WikiPedia:Votes_for_deletion/Autobiography_promotion_and_publicity&diff=9221398&oldid=9220020)

Projects
Get photos of Denver and possibly other Colorado locations from [4] (http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/sseop/EFS/photoinfo.pl?PHOTO=STS078-732-7).
Why did I get reverted at Image:Pope John Paul II Coat of Arms.jpg?
See Image:Hansilk2.png, compared to GIF version!
I should get a book by John McPhee from the library.
Query Image:Etna 2002 eruption.jpg
Higher resolution for Image:M104 ngc4594 sombrero galaxy.jpg and Image:BlueMarble-2001-2002.JPG.
Satellite photos for all continents and subregions.
Higher resolution versions of the continent locator maps.
Expand geometric group theory, amenability, and Thompson's group. Add info about Bounded robot dances, tree diagrams for <math>F<math>, and more.
Expand The Field. Info box, like Amelie.
The topic of skiing could use a lot of expansion. See Category:Ski resorts.
Start Flower snark! See snark and [5] (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/FlowerSnark.html).
Fix the ASCII-art graphs in Category:Articles with ASCII art!
Clean up the treatment of hyperbolic geometry! Should have pictures for the disc model and upper half plane model.
Add info to Skyhook (structure)!
Having started Nagata-Smirnov metrization theorem, I should add the proof.
Expand Milnor sphere.
Living in Vail, Colorado, I should expand that entry. Get a history of Vail from the library. Take some pictures from a nearby peak. See Cerritos, California for inspiration on what can be done.
Perhaps The Mind's I could use a cover photo.
I find the list of mathematical proofs interesting. I'll be adding some entries to it when I finally add the topics listed above. Also, there's the list of mathematical topics and Wikipedia:Pages needing attention/Mathematics.
Maybe I could add something useful to line graph.
Maybe I'll add the proof of the marriage theorem.
Sometimes when I'm feeling mindless I'll pick a disambiguation page and disambiguate links to it.
The pages on juggling could use a lot of work.
Pages to start
- Schreier index formula.
- The bellows conjecture.
- Dehn's lemma, and a lot of pages from User:Charles Matthews/red links#Algebraic topology and Wikipedia:Requested articles/Mathematics.
- The statement and a proof of the stable marriage theorem.
- The red links at Petersen graph.
Photos to take
- cooked bacon
- spinach
- raisin bran
- scrambled egg, omelet
- pipe wrench
- aluminum foil
- Could clean Image:Dodecahedron flat.png or Image:Desargues Theorem.png
- Better picture for Sharpie
- Diagram of the Hopf link
- Blindfold, hood
- BLT sandwich, Peanut butter and jelly sandwich

Locations near me
The following places are near me. I should get off my lazy butt and take more pictures of them.
- The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens in Vail, Colorado.
- Gore Creek flows through Vail
- The Gore Range
- Vail Pass, about 10 miles east of Vail
- Minturn, Eagle-Vail, and Avon, Colorado are west along Interstate 70
- Glenwood Canyon. I have photos of Hanging Lake, within the canyon, to upload.
Other comments
Maybe eventually I'll write about
- Madder Rose, a band. They published Swim (1993), Panic On (1994), The Love You Save (1995), Tragic Magic (1997), and Hello June Fool (1999)
- The Smalls, a band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (see AMG (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:bl5ibkg9jakm)). They published To Each a Zone (1992), The Smalls (1993), Waste & Tragedy (1995), and My Dear Little Angle (1999)
- Stephen Landsburg, author of The Armchair Economist (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0029177766/002-8280894-1678457?v=glance) and the Everyday Economics (http://slate.msn.com/?id=3944&QueryText=%22Everyday+Economics%22&SearchOn=Department) column on Slate.
The WikiProject Music and WikiProject Albums should be helpful for the music.
If I ever buy Earphoria I'll give it a cover photo.
Bombardier beetles are so cool: they're rocket propelled! Perhaps if I can get to a library I'll try to flesh out the article.
