The Callaloo Journal

Callaloo is a journal of African and African-American writing containing original work by and critical studies of black writers worldwide. It was founded by current editor Charles H. Rowell in 1976 at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The journal moved to the University of Virginia and then Texas A&M.
The John Edgar Wideman short story published in Callaloo Vol. 22, No. 3. won the 2000 O. Henry Award.
